01 / The problem

Your customers can't tell you apart.

Open five competitors' websites in your category. They all promise quality, reliability, experience and customer service. Yours probably does too. When every firm makes the same claims, buyers compare the only thing left: price.

When your value isn't clear, every conversation becomes a cost comparison.

People who know you trust you; strangers can't see why they should.

Your website, your sales pitch and your team each tell a different version of the business.

A new website, social media or an agency can't fix a message that doesn't set you apart.

02 / The real cause
It isn't a marketing problem. It's a positioning problem. More posts, more ads or a new logo won't fix a company that hasn't decided what makes it different and who it's for. Positioning comes down to three decisions.
01
Who should you win? The customers, needs and buying situations where you're the strongest fit.
02
Why should they choose you? The differences that matter to those customers, and the evidence that backs them up.
03
How do you say it? Clear messaging and marketing priorities built on the first two answers.

The goal isn't to appeal to everyone. It's to become the obvious choice for the customers you serve best.

Sometimes the answer isn't more marketing. It's a clearer position.

06 / Who you'll work with

You work with me. Not a junior team.

I'm Mahesh ‘Nakashima’ Somnath. I've spent over nine years in marketing as a B2B copywriter, social media manager, client lead and strategist, including agency-side work on Schneider Electric, APC and Kanoo Group, amongst others. I started Nakashima Strategy to do the part most agencies skip: deciding what makes a company different before spending money telling people.

Let's talk

Is your business being chosen for the right reasons?

If you're not sure why customers pick you, or how to say what makes you different, let's talk. One conversation is enough to tell whether positioning is the problem to solve first. If it isn't, I'll tell you.
